Travel Defend is a travel insurance company that wanted to stand out from competitors by creating a modern, friendly, and approachable digital experience. I was responsible for redesigning their website and building a chatbot experience that reflected their mission to make travel insurance less intimidating and more human.

Travel insurance is often seen as confusing and corporate, which can discourage people from engaging with it. The challenge was to create a brand experience that felt welcoming, trustworthy, and easy to navigate. In addition, the chatbot needed to go beyond scripted responses and feel conversational, with personality and warmth built into every interaction.

The refreshed digital experience positioned Travel Defend as a more approachable and trustworthy brand. The website is now easier to navigate and visually inviting, while the chatbot adds a personal, playful layer to the customer journey, helping travellers feel cared for from the start.

I designed a clean, modern website with a conversational tone, intuitive layout, and friendly color palette that breaks away from the typical insurance mold. For the chatbot, I helped shape the UX and tone of voice, adding microcopy, visuals, and animated gifs to make users feel like they were chatting with a helpful friend.
